All Amateurs residing in Linn County Iowa are encouraged to fill out a member survey and keep it current. There are several ways to submit or update your survey information.
PDF file
You can always submit a survey the old fashion way by downloading a PDF file, printing it out and filling it in by hand. Mail to the address at the bottom or bring it to the next CVARC meeting. The PDF can be downloaded from http://ares.rf.org/linn/survey.pdf .
Microsoft Word form
We have created an ARES Member Survey that you can fill out using Word 2000-2007. Other word processors may work, but have not been tested. The form can be downloaded from http://ares.rf.org/linn/survey.doc Be sure you SAVE the file on you local machine. (Don't open it directly from the web site or the changes will not be saved.) Once your local copy is filled out, attach it to an email and sent it to the email address at the bottom of the form.
Email Updates
We will accept updates at anytime especially if your call sign, email address, or street address has changed. You need not fill out a complete form for these changes. The changes can be submitted in any format you wish.
Linn County ARES Email Reflector
Linn County ARES also maintains an email reflector for Linn County ARES members. This list is intended to be used for emergency traffic and announcements of general interest. It averages about 3 messages per month. As this list is open only to members, you need not worry about receiving spam from this list. We will be taking the liberty of adding your home email address to the Linn County ARES email reflector. Let the moderator know if you want to be removed from the list.
Those of you that have been on the reflector for a while might remember a temporary problem with att.net blocking traffic to mchsi.com. This problem has been resolved. The use of workarounds like using arrl.net or a “free” email address is no longer necessary. Because this is a closed list, it will only accept messages that originate from the same address used to subscribe to the list unless special provisions are made with one of the list moderators.
If you have a work email address also available, please include your work email in the survey. Since some companies may discourage use of emails for personal use, we will only add your business email if you give us permission. Please let the moderator know of we can use your business email address.
